This is not a pulpit.
It’s a gathering.
Hardly A Homily (hardlyahomily.com) is a shared space for voices shaped by lived experience- lessons learned, wisdom offered, quiet observations, and honest musings. Here, we teach, not preach.
We speak from where we have stood, not from where we believe others should stand, or where they thought we should stand.
We can only ever see our experience through our own eyes; from the platforms and perspectives we have lived. Yet we can choose to listen. To step, for a moment, onto another’s platform. To explore perspectives beyond our own, and in doing so, expand what we know.
Every journey is individual. Not all views align. Not all reflections will be accepted.
And that’s the point.
We honour the freedom of thought, the courage to share, and the humility to keep learning.
We believe growth happens not in sameness, but in respectful difference.
What we will not hold space for is harm.
No belittling, no invalidation, no diminishing of another’s experiences, and no judgment dressed as truth.
This is a place of knowing and growing.
A place to reflect, to question, to contribute- and to listen.
Welcome.
